Hello my lovelies, welcome to Autumn and a new challenge for the month.
We have a really beautiful and talented scrapbooker joining us here as our Guest Designer, so without further ado please make her feel very welcome -
I asked Wendy a few questions and she was gracious enough to give us a little insight into how she started and what scrapping means to her.
How did you get into Scrapbooking? Like most Scrapbookers I attended a party and did a little "make and take" and was hooked. It took me a long time to get fully into Scrapbooking as I knew I would love it with a passion and I wanted to make sure I had the time to devote to this craft that it deserves.
What does it mean to me? When I am Scrapbooking I am in my own little "creative" world and I get so excited when I see a layout coming together. I love that I can scrap my family, friends and special events in their lives and preserve the same for years to come. Most recently scrapbooking has become my therapy for making my book about my dear mum of which this layout is a part of.
The challenge for this month is to use hexagonals as well as stamping, I am sure that you will agree that Wendy has done a beautiful page.
About the layout: The Meg's Garden papers were perfect for this layout and photo. This is my favourite photo of my mum and myself. In the layout I have used little coloured wired beads and plastic leaves that are on the doiley frame that belonged to my mum. Behind the photo is hidden journalling - I asked her once to write down something about me....it was becoming difficult for her to write at this stage and when I was clearing out her little table by her chair I found the tag and on it she had written "I love you" - so precious and all the journalling I needed. The criteria, (hexagons) was a real challenge for me - but I love how this layout turned out. Thankyou Annette for the opportunity. x
I love how Wendy has used the hexagon shapes, beautiful flower clusters and gorgeous stamping, the addition of the brad to the butterly looks awesome.
THANKYOU so much Wendy for agreeing to be my Guest Designer for the month mwah.
And now for moi, the beautiful little boy in this page is the first grandson of a work colleague, when I saw the pictures she had of him I really wanted to scrap one (who doesn't love scrapping little bubbas?)
I changed the pic to b&w as he was laying on brown carpet, not a easy colour to do with baby blues.
Now the gorgeousness that is Kim has (as some of you would know) been flitting around the first ever Scrapbooking Expo in Melbourne and had her debut as a teacher there, two classes each day of the Expo, so I am sure that we will all understand and give her a little bit more time to have her page up here as soon as she can.
Mary and our newest DT Member Cheryl will have their wonderful creations here very soon.
So for now farewell my lovelies and looking forward to seeing your take on MY Challenge, hugs and love Annette xo
