Still time to enter

Hello all as the title of this post states there is still time to enter in our challenge for the month which was set by Kim, to use White, Gold and Silver.
Now I decided to do a card plus a couple of ornaments, lots of glitter goodness to be had, don't think the cat was too excited about it though, glitter can be hard to get out of fur lol

 It is hard to see on the card but I rubbed over the alphas and embossed xmas trees with gold ink. Found it a bit hard to keep the glitter on the ornaments, using dimensional magic did make it adhere better but I think I got more on me than anything else.
So if you haven't entered yet have a go, would love to see some more entries.
Would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. Hugs and Love xo

December Challenge - White, Gold & Silver

Hello all and welcome to December
 Firstly I want to tell you about our DECEMBER CHALLENGE
I thought it would be nice to have a little colour challenge.
W
White*Gold*Silver
Now it doesn't have to be a Christmas layout as such but most of us have done Christmas ones.
Now onto our Guest Designer for this merry month.
I would like to introduce you to the very talented
Janice Nicholls

 Hi there, I’m Janice Nicholls and I live in a small country town in Cummins, South Australia.
I started scrapbooking in 2006 and my 2 beautiful children and family all feature in my work. My style is ever changing. At the moment I love double photos, grouped and layered clusters and white space.
I also like to add layers to my background using stencils, gesso, mists and inks.
I scrap mostly 12 x 12 layouts. I enjoy trying new techniques, not always successful, but it is fun trying.
I have been very fortunate to have been on some fabulous Design Teams and have had my work published in magazines.
I am honoured and thrilled to be Guest Designing here at Orange Paperie & Co for December.
 A big Thank You to the very talented Kim Ewins for inviting me.
Kim’s theme for this month is Gold, Silver and White and being December I chose to scrap about one of my favourite times of the year…Christmas.
Here is what I have created.

{JOY}
I hope I have inspired you to join in the fun here at Orange Paperie for December. Remember to link up your layout and share it with us…we would love to see what you create.

A truly GORGEOUS layout Janice
I know you have inspired me!!!!
A HUGE THANKS to Janice for being our DECEMBER guest designer.
Make sure you pop over and visit Janice's blog to see more of her truly beautiful work.
Now here is my layout using the
White*Silver*Gold
Colour Combo

{Peace On Earth}

My layout is about the 20 minutes of peace as the children put the decorations on the tree that is until they start arguing about who gets to put the star on the top!!!??

{A Walk In The Park}

This is my girl Madison, who may I say doesn't really like me taking photo's of her! {Can you tell???}
I've used the CW template {Spring Fling}to add texture and also the Kaisercraft circles mask. Die cuts also are Kaisercraft and I have cut out some extra roses from the die-cuts.
 So the sketch looks like this

So as usual I went off on my own little adventure but you can see the basic sketch...

Thanks for looking and we do hope you can join us!
Kim x
Make sure you pop back as Annette will add her layout very soon :)
_______________________________________________________________________________
Oh my what gorgeous pages Mary and Kim such pretty colours and awesome textures.
For my page a flipped the sketch on it's side and used this amazing pic of my friend Sue's beautiful little granddaughter Isabella (mostly called Bella), I did this page as a gift for Sue as Bella definately is the apple of her eye.

(princess bella)

Can't remember the paper range I used but the large flower is from Manor house, stamps are old Kaisercraft, ribbon, tiny twine, buttons, collection butterflies (part of my fussy cutting) and small blue fabric flowers are all from Craft Queen, Nicole has the most amazing collection of embellies. http://www.craftqueen.com.au/.

I just loved the sketch part of the challenge, can help get you out of a rut sometimes.
Hope you will all give this challenge a go, so much fun, can't wait to see.
Hugs and love till then
Annette xo

November Challenge

Hello everyone, Jo here.
 It's my turn to set the challenge this month and I thought it would be fun to do a Sketch challenge. I would also like you to either use Die-cuts or do some fussy cutting (you choose!)

 We have an amazing Guest Designer this month and I can't wait to introduce you to her.

Here is the sketch - don't forget you can interpret this anyway you wish as long as it is recognizable as this sketch e.g. turn sideways etc.

And without further ado, I'd like to introduce the wonderful Val Thorpe who resides in beautiful South Africa. Thank you Val for inspiring us with your work this month.

Hi my name is Val and I am a scrap-a-holic. I have been married to Simon for 37 years and we have two kids, Clint and Storm, a DIL Lin who is expecting twins in Feb, four very spoilt yorkies and a beautiful cat called Hansa. I am lucky enough not to have to work and to have a very well kitted out studio. I get to travel a lot and photography is my other passion and so I always have loads of material to scrap. My passion with scrapbooking is the journalling (newly discovered) and now I am going back through my layouts to add the stories.
I am on the DT at Once Upon a Sketch,  CSI, Let's Scrap and Black with 2. I am also addicted to challenges. I like the fact that they challenge me to think outside the box and to try things that ordinarily I may not have... I have a blog
 http://valbellesramblings.blogspot.com.au/
 and you can also find me on Facebook Valerie Ann Thorpe so come and look me up and say hello.

Here is Val's inspirational take on the sketch:

{FLY}
 I'm sure you'll agree that Val has a beautiful style and her photos are always magnificent. Remember to have a look at Val's blog - it's sure to put a smile on your face :)   So next is my take on the sketch:

{Weekend Escape}
I've used the lovely Kaisercraft "Sweet Pea" collection which I thought was perfect for this photo with the die cut animals. I took ages to decide on a photo for this paper collection because the colours match so well with many different pics. The little flowers are from Craft Queen, the flair button is from A Piece of Cake Designs and for the life of me I can't remember where I obtained the chippie title from, sorry :/ There is also a few bits of pp from Stampin' Up!  For closies go to My Blog   If you visit my blog you may also have a chance to see where I'm exploring at the moment :)

Anyway I hope you can play along this month and thanks for dropping by.

Hi there once again all you lovelies.
 Me again, Cheryl with my take on Jo's challenge, it was a cracker this month (thanks Jo) and took me a while to get my head around it, but without further ado, here it is.

{Impossible to Forget}
A big thank you to Val for joining us this month, her inspiration and talent is amazing!

We hope you are inspired and can join us with Jo's Sketch Challenge.
Looking forward to seeing your creations.

I used lots of bits and pieces on this layout, the Music PP was a left over scrap from ages,I think it may be Kaiser

OCTOBER CHALLENGE - BLACK & WHITE WITH A SPLASH OF COLOUR

Welcome to October!
Happy to have you here at Orange Paperie & Co and boy do we have a treat for YOU!!!!

 Cheryl has asked a very special.....super talented scrapper/artist to be our GUEST DESIGNER for October, to help us inspire you.
Without further ado.....
       We give you the amazing....
   Heather Jacob

Hi there, my name is HEATHER  JACOB.
Firstly I am so honoured and thrilled to be here as a guest designer .Thanks so much  Cheryl for inviting me .
The theme this month is Black and White with a kiss of color. I chose  lime green as my kiss of color to blend with this divine photo of my favourite flowers.
Now a little about me : I feel blessed that my husband/soulmate Baden is incredibly supportive and interested in my art and hobbies. My beautiful family feature in my works.
To me this craft is the perfect combination of art, photography, beautiful paper, and glorious words. I especially love to choose some elements, cast a spell and see what happens, to create a dream and follow it through. Subtle shadows, light and color are all ingredients for casting the spell. I am in harmony with my garden and its inhabitants, connecting with the beauty that surrounds me. For me it is all-consuming, inspiring and a natural expression of my inner self, which I love to weave into my works.
I am inspired by colour and texture … I love to play with stitching, chipboard, journaling, muslin, fabrics, metal elements, inking, masking and texture paste. Getting messy with paint, experimenting and playing with paper ignites my creativity and connects me with my inner child.
Off the page projects and altered art are a fave of mine. I see my style as “CLASSIC” with attention to detail…I tend to lean toward monochromatic themes with a little shabby chic/grunge thrown in..
Memories are forever, Warm hugz from Heather x

My blog
I am lucky enough to be on a number of design teams and my work has been widely published nationally and internationally.
 A HUGE THANK YOU to Heather and her beautiful inspiration this month.....X

  As you can see by the title of this post Cheryl's Challenge is to create a  layout using Black & White & a Splash of whatever colour you choose......easy as!!! (Cheryl is having some issue's with her computer, at the moment so I'm just posting on her behalf.....Hope it's sorted soon, Cheryl !).
Firstly here is what Heather has created and I'm sure you will agree her work is STUNNING!!!!

Annette here with my take on Cheryl's fantastic challenge and how gorgeous are her and Heathers pages, yummo.
I decided to go with red for my splash of colour, and these pics of my very handsome young nephew Logan were just perfect,

{Logan}
by Annette
I kept the page pretty simple as I wanted the main focus to be the pics.
To add a bit of pizzaz to the cog chippies I painted them and then used dimensional magic which I also coated the word tags with. Some beautiful stripped ribbon, ric rac, plasterers tape (very versatile stuff) fabric covered and normal buttons as well as some washi all combined created a page I am quite pleased with. Oooh even dragged out the dymo labeller too.

So I hope that you will all join in and have some fun with our challenge this month.
Hugs and love,
Annette

Hello everyone, Jo here and welcome to October! I'm so excited to have one of my fave scrapbookers join us as our Guest Designer this month. I've been following Heather Jacob's work for a long time now and she never ceases to inspire me. Thank you Heather for sharing all your wonderful creations.  Here is my take on Cheryl's challenge - Black + White with a splash of colour. I must thank Steve Hill (DD's partner) for once again supplying me with this great photo from their travels.

I've used Kim's background technique with texture paste on black cardstock, added some stamping & ink. For my splash of colour of was inspired of course by the brilliant blue sky in the pic (I know! unusual for London right?!). Whenever I see photos of St Paul's Cathedral I'm reminded of the Mary Poppins movie and the old lady feeding the birds - it always brings a tear to my eye. There's also some lovely little embellies, washi tape & fabric from Craft Queen and the flowers & metal street lamps I've had in my stash for years so I'm not sure where I got them from, sorry. Of course the lovely bird is from prima.

For closies go to my Blog .  I really hope you can join in on the fun this month. It's an easy challenge this month so I'd love to see what "splash" you come up with.

Mary and Kim will be back Mid-October to show you their takes on Cheryl's October Challenge
HAPPY SCRAPPING!!!!

More mood board inspiration

Hello loyal followers, Annette here with my take on Marys' Mood Board Challenge. I drew my inspiration from the colours throughout the board, in particular the different shades of brown which were a perfect match for this gorgeous pic of my two little great neice and nephew.

I used lots of lovely Kaiser Note Worthy pp, kraft card stock,  as well as the most beautiful collection of embellies from Craft Queen (excluding the bird and mushroom brad), stamping, punches, OA Alphas, Scrapmatts words.

So what inspiration does the mood give you? We would love to see.

Cheers Annette

More inspo for Mary's Mood Board

Hello again. Yes it's the middle of the month once again & I'm here to share my take on Mary's challenge for this month. I hope you all have a go at this one. It doesn't matter how you interpret the challenge, just get something onto a page & see what you come up with.

I was inspired by the French feel and I've used a photo of an artist we came across while he was using Notre Dame Cathedral as his inspiration.  It was such an iconic Parisienne moment that I had to capture it for our travel album. I also liked the greenery of the trees in the mood board and have used some yummy lime green flowers on my page.

I've used a quote from a novel titled "The Paris Wife". For closies pop on over to http://mycherrypiecreations.blogspot.com.au/ I hope you find the time to play along this month.

Until next time......Jo
             ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Hello all.....
 Kim here, firstly I would like to thank Sandra for joining us this month and also Mary for the September Mood Board Challenge.
 Beautiful work Jo!!!
 I drew my inspiration from the bed cover, with the pretty pink and a little from the grey knitted throw.
 Mary's Mood Board
 ( U Shine, My Girl )
I've used 2 CW templates from Craft Queen, a cute little flourish from Scrapmatts (which I cut in half), and some Prima goodies!
The soft brown on my layout is actually good ole COFFEE.
Hope you have a chance to join in our challenge this month & thanks girls for some beautiful work :))
Love and Hugs
Kim X
  Miss Annette will add her layout shortly.
