Heather Jacob
Hi
there, my name is HEATHER JACOB.
Firstly
I am so honoured and thrilled to be here as a guest designer .Thanks so
much Cheryl for inviting me .
The
theme this month is Black and White with a kiss of color. I chose lime green as my kiss of color to blend with
this divine photo of my favourite flowers.
Now
a little about me : I feel blessed that my husband/soulmate Baden is incredibly
supportive and interested in my art and hobbies. My beautiful family feature in my works.
To me this craft is the perfect combination of art, photography,
beautiful paper, and glorious words. I especially love to choose some elements,
cast a spell and see what happens, to create a dream and follow it through.
Subtle shadows, light and color are all ingredients for casting the spell. I am
in harmony with my garden and its inhabitants, connecting with the beauty that
surrounds me. For me it is all-consuming, inspiring and a natural expression of
my inner self, which I love to weave into my works.
I am
inspired by colour and texture … I love to play with stitching, chipboard,
journaling, muslin, fabrics, metal elements, inking, masking and texture paste. Getting messy with paint, experimenting and
playing with paper ignites my creativity and connects me with my inner child.
Off the page
projects and altered art are a fave of mine. I see my style as “CLASSIC” with
attention to detail…I tend to lean toward monochromatic themes with a little
shabby chic/grunge thrown in..
Memories are
forever, Warm hugz from Heather x
My blog
I am
lucky enough to be on a number of design teams and my work has been widely published
nationally and internationally.
A HUGE THANK YOU to Heather and her beautiful inspiration this month.....X

Annette here with my take on Cheryl's fantastic challenge and how gorgeous are her and Heathers pages, yummo.
I decided to go with red for my splash of colour, and these pics of my very handsome young nephew Logan were just perfect,

I kept the page pretty simple as I wanted the main focus to be the pics.
To add a bit of pizzaz to the cog chippies I painted them and then used dimensional magic which I also coated the word tags with. Some beautiful stripped ribbon, ric rac, plasterers tape (very versatile stuff) fabric covered and normal buttons as well as some washi all combined created a page I am quite pleased with. Oooh even dragged out the dymo labeller too.
So I hope that you will all join in and have some fun with our challenge this month.
Hugs and love,
Annette

I've used Kim's background technique with texture paste on black cardstock, added some stamping & ink. For my splash of colour of was inspired of course by the brilliant blue sky in the pic (I know! unusual for London right?!). Whenever I see photos of St Paul's Cathedral I'm reminded of the Mary Poppins movie and the old lady feeding the birds - it always brings a tear to my eye. There's also some lovely little embellies, washi tape & fabric from Craft Queen and the flowers & metal street lamps I've had in my stash for years so I'm not sure where I got them from, sorry. Of course the lovely bird is from prima.
For closies go to my Blog . I really hope you can join in on the fun this month. It's an easy challenge this month so I'd love to see what "splash" you come up with.
Mary and Kim will be back Mid-October to show you their takes on Cheryl's October Challenge
