JUNE CHALLENGE: TAGS, TABS & TEXTURE

Hello everyone, Jo here. It's my turn to set this months challenge and I've invited a wonderfully talented paper craft friend from Norway to be our Guest Designer for June. I was lucky enough to meet this lovely lady through a scrapbook forum a few years ago now and I've admired her work ever since. I know you'll love her take on this month's challenge. So please welcome Tone K!

Here is a little about Tone:

My name is Tone K. I am 44 years old and live together with my husband Vidar and our son Daniel (13 years old) I also have a stepdaughter, Trine (27 years old). I live in Norway a couple of miles outside the capital Oslo. I am a full time worker at a public office.
I start scrapping in 2004, but I have loved paper since I was a little girl and I have always  put photos into albums. Late last year I started making cards and tags. Although I said earlier that I would never make cards ;) I really like it J .
I guess I'm one of the few that scrap chronological and every photo. But I like it that way…although I’m currently behind schedule…haha…I have just started to scrap photos from 2007 J However, I'm enjoying myself. And since Daniel has grown older, less images been taken…unfortunately.
Other scrappers say they recognize my work, but I have no idea what style I have….but I do believe I have a fondness for layers. I like to think I vary in style. Nowadays I am very fond of stencils. I think it's great fun with both glimmer mist, Dylusion, Distress Stains and modeling paste.
I surf a lot around the blog world for inspiration. French and Russian blogs are very exciting.
I have been asked if I would be DT, but I do not want to scrap with deadlines and particular themes so I declined. This is my hobby and I do not want there to be a duty race J But it is fun to be a GD J

Do youself a favour and browse Tone's blog HERE  Tone's title for this layout is in Norwegian but translates to: READY, STEADY TEAR DOWN!

I love the colour scheme that Tone has used and there is lots of texture and layering with her tags and tabs.
Here are some closies:

And here is my version for this challenge:

I've used the Crafters Workshop Clock template and texture paste for the background on the Kaiser "Base Coat" paper as well as a Bo Bunny background stamp and Glimmer Mist. I've covered some of my tags with Washi tape and Newsprint paper from Stampin' Up! and journalled on the remaining tags. The little butterflies, flowers, bakes twine, small clock and wooden button are from Craft Queen. The large clock is from Maya Road and I've used a little bit of machine stitching on the page as well. I've embossed one of the journalling tags to give it a bit more texture and added a little pearl and diamante pin.

I really hope you are inspired to give this challenge a go. It's lots of fun because tags/tabs are so versatile. Why not try an off-the-page project or even a card. You don't have to be confined to a layout and we'd love to see what you can create. I'm looking forward to seeing your work :)

Hi everyone, Cheryl here with my take on Jo's challenge, had to put my thinking cap on for this one as I don't usually "do" tags and tabs. I have made a mini book and have pics of four generations from both sides of my family. I realised after taking the pics that you cant see the tabs but they are at the side of the pages, one for each generation. The tags are the hearts you see on the front cover.

Mary Here,
Welcome Tone, gorgeous take on Jo's challenge & Beautiful Jo, love the quotes on your tags and love the colour scheme
I have done a little mini album attached to my layout, to save taking up space here I will put more pics on my blog , but the little tag opens up to reveal more photo's.

Cheryl I love your take on the challenge , just precious and so beautiful. Look forward to seeing lots of amazing entries
Mary
Annette and Kim will add their layouts mid-month .....
Keep Warm and Happy Scrapping.
